Sinclair offers four lineages or miniature swine:
Scientists now have the benefit of selecting a miniature swine strain that best fits their research endeavor. Our facility in Maine produces the micro-Yucatan™ and the Yucatan miniature swine. Our Missouri facility produces the Sinclair, Hanford™, and the Yucatan miniature swine. The miniature swine are delivered either in our AAALAC accredited acclimatized trucks or by approved airfreight companies. All animals are well conditioned through a well-established socialization program prior to shipping.
Genetics
The genetic cross history for our Hanford and Sinclair miniswine are well documented. Our Yucatans consist of four genetic lineages (haplotypes) based upon swine leucocyte antigen (SLA/MHC) testing for xenotransplantation. Additional information on SLA testing can be accessed here. DNA samples of each miniature swine produced at the Missouri facility are retained for future genetic evaluations.
